Progress Update – January 16, 2018

Believe it or not, but I have beat my own record. I have been working extra hard on the scarves to make as many as I possibly can by the time I find out next month when my shoulder surgeries will begin. I know that once the surgeries begin, it could be up to three months before I can do very much. It all depends on how quickly I heal and how well I do with my physical therapy. All that being said, I just finished the True Grey scarf that I started only yesterday. So I finished it in a little over 27 hours. Wow! I have surprised myself with this one. But I also know not to expect to be able to finish the other scarves in just a little over a day. For one thing, I only have one skein of yarn left that makes only short scarves. The last short scarf will be Deep Forest. So after I finish with that one, I will have two each of 5 different colors and just 1 of the Cherry one that only had two skeins of it. The other skeins are being used to make hats to match the scarves. A friend is making them and I don’t know how many she has done so far. She is in the process of moving, so I know she probably has not been able to do very many, if any at all. I only found out the week before Christmas that she could make hats, and gave her three skeins then, and still have three more to give her, when she brings back the hats from the first three skeins. I didn’t want to overwhelm her with too many skeins at once.

The picture of the true Grey scarf is below:

this one looks pretty true to the color.

As usual, I will keep you posted as to my progress. And when the surgeries start, I will keep you posted as to my progress there too.
